I believe there are two ways to grieve – consciously and unconsciously – and with so much loss in the human experience, I feel passionately that we must slow down after experiencing a loss and truly allow ourselves to grieve.
Grief is not linear or predictable, and there is no time table for the process.
Whether it be a life death, or a life loss such as losing a pet, a marriage, your career, or your identity – they are all significant and deserve the space and time to heal. Allowing oneself to feel any and all feelings without personal judgement is imperative. You might be furious, deeply saddened, confused, or in denial – these are all normal responses.
